The Eco-Marathon Shell is an annual automobile challenge organised by the Shell company from which the objective is to cross the longest distance with only one 1L of fuel. The Europe is not the only continent to welcome the Eco-Marathon Shell, this challenge also takes place in Asia and in America.

This competition is reserved to students of every level (from high school to college) and from every countries. The vehicles are prototypes studied and conceived in school structures or college structures.

The Categories:

Vehicles can be distinguished in several classes,Prototypes and Urban Concepts.

• The first category “Prototype” is generally represented by vehicles with 3 ou 4 wheels from which dimensions are limited by rules. The conception of those vehicles are relatively free.

• The second category “Urban Concepts” draw closer to an urban car which can circulate in agglomeration. Rules impose those cars to have stricts dimensions, four wheels, one steering wheel, one braking system and lights.
